Job Description
Pertemps are delighted to be working with our public sector client to recruit a number of Customer Contact Advisors within their Social Care Direct team.
Role – Customer Service Advisor
Location – Edinburgh City Centre (Office based role)
Hours – 36 hours per week, Monday – Friday, between 0830 – 1900 (shift patterns will apply)
Pay Rate - £14.51 per hour
Start date – End of September 2026
Duration – Temporary until February 2027
You will be joining an established team who are the first point of contact for social work referrals. This is a busy, rewarding contact centre role where you will handle calls and emails from members of the public and professionals, accurately recording information and ensuring referrals are passed to the appropriate person timeously.

- Acting as the first point of contact for social work referrals
- Handling incoming calls from professionals and members of the public
- Listening carefully and accurately interpreting the information provided
- Writing clear, concise case notes and updating systems
- Processing email referrals between calls
- Liaising with Social Work professionals and internal advisors for guidance
- Working both independently and as part of supportive team
- Any other tasks as required
You should:
- Be a good listener
- Have excellent communication skills, both in writing and verbally
- Have strong IT skills and be able to learn new systems
- Have previous customer service experience
- Be a team player
