HSE Recruitment are proud to be recruiting for a leading logistics company who are seeking a Health and Safety Business Partner to cover three key hubs. As well as H&S you will also be responsible for managing dangerous goods on site. If you are looking for a role that offers variety, the opportunity to support multiple sites and the freedom to influence decisions, this could be the role for you.

This role will cover three sites; Hatfield, Wednesbury and Oldham and you will be out on site approx. 3/4 days a week with home working the other 1/2 days. You can be based local to one of the hubs or happy to travel from home to all three locations. The business is flexible on this as you will have a car allowance and accommodation covered.

Each hub has a different culture and dynamic so you also need to be adaptable, dynamic and able to change your management style to suit and get the best out of everyone. The site risk profiles are more akin to manufacturing sites than depots. There are H&S Managers at each hub so day to day there is a presence on each site.

It is the role of the Health & Safety Business Partner to support these managers, the GMs and other key stakeholders in improving H&S standards. On one hand, this will be a hands-on role, roll your sleeves up, get onto site, do risk assessments etc. On the other hand, however, this is a more senior role than the managers and therefore they need you to be confident and capable to make decisions, have difficult conversations, lead the sites and provide them with direction and support. Regarding the dangerous goods element, you will be responsible for developed standards, shaping how it is managed and implement improvement plans across your sites so this is an equally important part of the role.

Experience required:

• NEBOSH Certificate as a minimum qualification
• A Dangerous Goods Limited Quantities qualification would be desirable but good working knowledge and experience with this is essential. Experience developing standards, shaping how it is managed and implementing improvement plans.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment ideally and with multisite/ multi stakeholder experience desirable or experience in a complex logistics environment.
• Leadership experience, in particular experience managing multiple stakeholders, having difficult conversations, making decisions for the sites.
• Someone pragmatic, mature in their approach, who can see the bigger picture and who is dynamic and adaptable.
