Role: Group Head of Talent Development
Salary: £110,000 - £120,000 + Bonus
Location: Central London/Hybrid working
Network HR are leading an exciting search for a Group Head of Talent Development to join a small to medium sized, multi-faceted Insurance client undergoing significant transformation. The Group Head of Talent Development will be responsible for the motivating, retaining and developing talent, ensuring that performance management, succession and talent planning, and leadership development activities align with the organisation’s vision and objectives for employees. This is a brilliant role for an experienced Head of Talent Development specialist to be part of a structural transformation which will cover the organisations Executive committee and its population. Responsibilities will include:
o Develop a learning culture where employees take ownership for their own development.
o Partner with HR Business Partners to ensure managers are adhering to and make best use of all effective Talent tools to identify and deliver development and business objectives.
o Managing the planning and delivery of Talent programmes, events and materials to support operational and functional objectives, across all departments.
o Collating and reviewing identified development needs and opportunities, working collaboratively with the HR team and managers to ensure that effective training interventions are identified and delivered.
o Developing innovative and effective learning programmes to a variety of audiences, leveraging the most appropriate media, including e-learning technologies.
o Managing and participating in all stages of the learning and development cycle, including research, content design and development, delivery, evaluation and continuous improvement.
o Ensure development initiatives and solutions appeal to a range of learning styles, are flexible to suit the practical demands of the operation and remain are cost effective.
o Maintaining accurate and effective records of all learning and development activities.
o Regularly review the success of Talent development activities to ensure they remain effective and make recommendations for change as appropriate.
o Drive the continued adoption of the firm’s succession planning and talent review board approach, ensuring focus and coverage, with a willingness to constructively challenge assumptions and the status quo.
o Lead continued efforts to embed agile performance management, facilitating critical stages in the process. Continually review market best practice for enhancement opportunities.
o Contribute to the setting, managing and review of the agreed Talent Development budget, contributing to business cases as necessary and leveraging external funding sources when possible, by:
o Identifying and managing external training and accreditation bodies, agencies and providers necessary to deliver training that supports the company's strategic vision; and utilisation and management of third-party funding such as the UK Apprenticeship levy.
o Develop and report relevant metrics that objectively assess the impact of learning activities and the ROI, e.g., cost saving, compliance, retention or other productivity gains, etc.
The successful candidate will have extensive experience of designing and delivering Talent development programmes and will be able to evidence a career in Change/Transformation. You will also need:
o A thorough understanding of HR/Talent leadership theories and best practice.
o Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise activities and co-ordinate input from internal and external partners.
o Strong facilitation skills which encourage participation and appropriate challenge of participants.
o Excellent communication skills
o You will have the intellectual rigour and insight to be credible with a highly intelligent and experienced group of leaders.
