Project Manager - Automotive CapEx

Part of a major international group, this organisation has recently won several significant new automotive contracts is seeking an additional Project Manager for a fixed 6 month duration to lead the NPI and commissioning process.
Project Manager – Automotive CapEx (6 month contract)
Salary:  to £80000 pro rata on fixed term contract OR £50ph (Umbrella rate inside IR35)
Location: West Midlands based with travel to Europe (Spain of Germany)
As a Project Manager you will be responsible for overseeing the successful execution of robotic automation production cells into production, managing customer projects from intake of process design, implementation, onsite build & commissioning and customer acceptance / buy off.
Duties:
o Lead the management of designated projects, delivering agreed objectives including revenue, timing and deliverables, taking a project from conception to completion and escalate issues as they arise
o Support initial feasibility reviews, validation of quotations and development of project budgets and timing for plant based activities.
o Involved in the initial specification of project related equipment (e.g. Tooling, Assembly Equipment, Shop floor layouts etc.)
o Act as primary point of contact to the customer related to the project
o Achieving programme deliverables project cost and timing Progress reporting (internal & external)
o Follow the business process to realise programme delivery and identify areas of improvement Identify areas of change to work scope and control via change management
Experience:
You will already have significant experience in a Programme Manager or Project Manager capacity within the automotive industry, robotic automation or similar capital equipment systems integrator.
o Proven ability to conduct high level customer interaction and communication
o Setting up full development plans from concept to production with associated gateways/ KPI trackers, maintenance of timing and cost plans
o Able to demonstrate successful project delivery of manufacturing CapEx projects ideally abroad
o Engineering background with good understanding of automated production equipment & tooling design and integration
o Analytical with good judgement, commercial business sense and problem solving skills
o Relation builder with good communications  skills with both internal and external stakeholders
o Structured worker with good time management and project management ability
o Able to visit/ work from clients West Midlands facility and travel to customer sites in Europe
