General Manager

Internationally backed Manufacturer in West Midlands are currently looking for a General Manager to lead their business into a bright future both from an Engineering and Commercial standpoint. *** The bias for the General Manager will definitely be more Commercially focused *** 
 
With the business in a strong place & supplying into leading OEMs in their market; you will be responsible for the continuing improvement of the business whilst managing direct reports In Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, Sales, HR, HSE & Finance. You will have full P & L responsibility for the site. 
 
Reporting into the Directors; the General Manager you will be a strong communicator and will be a key advocate for Engagement with internal stakeholders, the workforce & any external stakeholders. The key emphasis for the right General Manager will be a strong commercial skillset and the ability to drive and develop Sales for the future of the business.  
 
Role: General Manager 
Salary: up to £110,000 + car allowance + bonus + benefits  
Location: West Midlands 
 
Key Responsibilities for the General Manager:

• Ensuring that all areas of the business are delivering on time & on budget
• Drive Commerical activity across UK & Europe & formulating a strategic commercial framework for your team to follow 
• Leading the organisation on its Lean Journey. You will be a key player in continuous improvement in productivity and efficiency
• Providing overall direction in terms of cost effective operations & planning 
• Working closely with the Operational team to assure the continuing Quality of products
• Improving the performance of all of your direct reports with strong communication & clear managerial direction
• Ensuring that Sales & Customer Services are delivering the best experience for the customer

Key Requirements for the General Manager:

• Tangible record of Success in an Operational/Senior Management role in a Manufacturing environment
• A strong Commercial Acumen is essential for this role; ability to improve the existing Sales numbers and structure will be essential 
• Qualification in Engineering (Degree, HNC, HND)
• Strong lean toolbox – strong understanding and ability to drive Continuous Improvement activity.
• Demonstrating a history achieving profit and business growth through effective planning, cost control & full P&L Leadership
• Strong communication skills is key; forging strong relationship with the headcount at the business
