Job Title: Health & Safety Advisor
Location: Gloucestershire (or commutable locations)
Reporting to: COO
Salary: £50,000 - £55,000, dependent on experience
Position Purpose for the Health & Safety Advisor role:We are seeking a proactive Health & Safety Advisor to manage and oversee the health and safety policies and compliance for our office environment and various projects. This role involves ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations, conducting risk assessments, and implementing safety improvements.
Key Responsibilities for the Health & Safety Advisor role:- Maintain and regularly review the company's Health & Safety policies, procedures, and compliance.
- Ensure all statutory obligations regarding health, safety, and welfare at work are met.
- Conduct and review risk assessments, safety inspections, and audits.
- Investigate and document accidents, implementing recommended improvements.
- Manage planned and ad hoc safety inspections, including field visits to sites and overseeing compliance with safety protocols.
- Stay updated with relevant health, safety, and welfare legislation and communicate changes.
- Consult with external H&S consultants for training and health and safety services as needed.
- Report on health and safety activities and participate in meetings on relevant safety matters.
Essential Skills & Experience for the Health & Safety Advisor role:- Strong written and spoken communication skills with a supportive and approachable style.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Competence in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to simplify complex information and take initiative.
Qualifications & Training for the Health & Safety Advisor role:- NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent.
- NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Health & Safety.
- NEBOSH Certificate in Environmental Management.
- CSCS Card.
- SMSTS (desirable).
- Membership in IOSH/IIRSM.
