Technical Support Engineer – Off Highway Vehicles/Heavy Plant

Technical Support Engineer – Off Highway Vehicles / Heavy Plant & Equipment
Salary: £40-50,000 + benefits
Location: Cambridge

Working in a small team of dedicated Technical Support Engineers you will be responsible for specific product range for a major vehicle manufacturer & distributor, acting as the subject matter technical expert for the range of construction vehicles.   
The main duties will be to provide specialist technical support for your product portfolio, to ensure internal customers and external customers receive exceptional service and experience optimal performance from their machinery. Technical queries could range from simple oil specification or torque setting questions to complex diagnostic issues which may need further research, analysis and investigation.

Core competencies for this role include:  
o Experienced in heavy plant or similar construction machinery highly desirable. Anyone with knowledge of CAT, Develon, Doosan, Hitachi, Volvo, Komatsu, Leibheer, Terex, Hydrema would be a good fit.  However is you have worked on commercial vehicles, agricultural plant or military vehicles or similar, we would be keen to speak with you.
o Previous experience working in the capacity as Service Engineer, Workshop Engineer or Support Engineer is highly desirable.
o Proven technical diagnostic and problem solving ability  
o An enquiring mind set, willing to learn new technology and ability to absorb and disseminate information effectively.
o Apprentice trained or time served with a suitable engineering qualification – NVQ, C&G, BTEC, Degree level
o Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing is essential. Strong IT skills are required.
o Team player, willing to be flexible depending upon job requirements.
