About the Role
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced and enthusiastic Careers Adviser to support young people across two schools in Reading starting from September 2025. You will be delivering high-quality, impartial careers education, information, advice and guidance (CEIAG) to students from Year 8 to Year 12, including those with SEND or who are considered vulnerable.
This role is focused on in-person delivery and will suit a proactive and organised individual who is passionate about empowering young people to make informed decisions about their futures.

Key Responsibilities
• Deliver one-to-one careers guidance interviews with Year 11 and 12 students, including those with SEND, young carers, and other vulnerable learners.
• Support group workshops, assemblies, and careers events to promote aspiration and informed decision-making.
• Help maintain and update school careers displays, online platforms, and CEIAG resources.
• Attend key events such as open evenings and parent/carer sessions.
• Share up-to-date labour market information (LMI) and careers materials with students and parents.
• Assist Careers Leaders in planning and delivering activities to meet Gatsby Benchmarks.
• Organise annual careers events, including Careers Fairs, Year 8 Careers Morning, and Year 10 Interview Days.
• Monitor and evaluate careers delivery, including capturing learner feedback and Compass evaluations.

What We’re Looking For
• Level 6 (or Level 4 with willingness to work towards Level 6) qualification in Careers Information, Advice & Guidance (CIAG).
• Previous experience providing CEIAG to young people, ideally within a school or college setting.
• A good understanding of the post-16 education and training landscape, including current LMI.
• Experience working with vulnerable groups and young people with SEND.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently across multiple sites.
• Confident communication skills with the ability to engage and inspire students, families, and school staff.
• A commitment to safeguarding, equality, and the promotion of young people’s rights.
