We are looking for outstanding Teachers with excellent communication skills and the ability to engage & inspire young people who demonstrate extremely challenging behaviour.

You will work across Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3 and the teaching will depend on the ability of the children and their individual needs, but you must:

  • have recent and excellent experience delivering either the Primary Curriculum or Secondary Core subjects
  • experience of teaching young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs or autism (ASC)
  • be an effective communicator
  • be able to work flexibly to meet the needs of individuals within the group
  • have a thorough understanding of differentiation within the classroom
  • be able to provide a calm and positive presence

We work with this school regularly and there are opportunities available for both short term and long term supply starting both this term and the new year.

The primary activity of this school is the provision of individualised education to young people aged 8 to 14 years old with Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) needs who are at risk of exclusion or have been excluded from their mainstream school.

Most of the young people at the school have experienced difficulty or trauma in their lives and the school offers boarding places to those who's personal situation impacts greatly on their ability to engage in education.

If you have a passion for working with young people with complex SEMH needs and you are committed to making a difference to their lives via Education we would love to hear from you.

Please give Jamie Keen a call on 01245 392 580 if you would like to have a confidential chat about this school and the opportunities available.
