As part of their continued expansion, they’re looking for a dynamic and commercially minded Management Accountant to join their Head Office team in Plymouth. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a pivotal role in supporting the financial operations of their trading subsidiary in the Republic of Ireland.
About the RoleYou’ll be joining a high-performing finance team, working alongside fellow Management Accountants and senior stakeholders to deliver accurate financial reporting, drive strategic decisions, and maintain robust financial control across the Irish business unit.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly management accounts (P&L, Balance Sheet, reporting packs) with variance analysis
- Monitor and forecast cashflow to support business liquidity
- Ensure compliance with VAT, ONS, and Intrastat returns
- Support core finance functions: Revenue, AR, AP, and Expenditure
- Maintain and review nominal codes across financial statements
- Post journals and contribute to budgeting and reforecasting
- Perform timely bank reconciliations
- Oversee supplier and employee payments
- Assist with fixed asset management and depreciation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insight
- Review and challenge monthly accruals
- Contribute to process improvement projects
- Support year-end audit preparation and ad hoc tasks
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in a commercial finance environment
- Strong track record in preparing management accounts with commentary
- Experience working with multiple currencies
- Advanced Excel skills; financial modelling a plus
- Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and thrive under pressure
- Confidence to challenge and improve existing processes
