They are seeking a proactive and commercially minded Financial Controller to play a key leadership role within their UK finance function.
This role offers the chance to join a forward-thinking business where finance is valued as a key function across the organisation. You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders, providing financial insights and support strategic decision making.
Your responsibilities as the Financial Controller will include:- Lead the finance function, including monthly management accounts, quarterly reporting, and financial controls.
- Act as a strategic business partner to senior leadership, supporting the team with financial insight, strategy development, and tactical planning.
- Identify and manage commercial risks, ensuring appropriate evaluation, mitigation, or escalation.
- Consolidate financial reporting, ensuring accuracy and clarity.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders.
- Attend project board meetings, offering financial and commercial decision support.
- Manage budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Collaborate with group and regional finance teams to ensure alignment and consistency
- Oversee and improve finance systems and processes.
- Provide day-to-day leadership and wellbeing support to the UK finance team.
To be considered for the role of Financial Controller, you will require the following skills and experience:- Professionally qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Project accounting experience is essential coupled with an understanding of project lifecycles and exposure to stakeholder management.
- Commercially astute, with a proactive and solution-focused approach.
- Proven experience in leading and developing finance teams, with a strong emphasis on wellbeing and mental health awareness. A people-focused leader who combines technical expertise with a compassionate, person-centred approach is essential.
