Client Director / Senior Client Manager

Sheridan Maine Accounting & Finance is proud to be partnering with a well-established and growing accountancy practice in Ferndown to recruit a Senior Client Manager.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced practice accountant / accounts manager to take ownership of a varied client portfolio while stepping into a leadership-focused role. You’ll play a key part in client relationship management, accounts and tax delivery, and team development within a fast-paced and supportive environment.
 
As a Senior Client Manager, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients while ensuring the delivery of high-quality accounts, tax, and advisory services.
This role combines client-facing responsibilities, technical oversight, and team leadership, making it ideal for someone looking to progress within an accountancy practice environment.
Key responsibilities include:
 

• Managing a portfolio of clients including SMEs, contractors, and owner-managed businesses
• Acting as a main point of contact, delivering excellent client service and relationship management
• Reviewing statutory accounts, management accounts, and corporation tax computations
• Overseeing VAT returns and compliance deadlines
• Supporting new business development, including client meetings and proposals
• Allocating work across the team and managing workflow effectively
• Monitoring internal KPIs and service delivery standards
• Coaching, mentoring, and developing junior team members

 
To be considered for this Senior Client Manager job, you will have:

• AAT, ACA, or ACCA qualified (or part-qualified with strong experience)
• Proven experience within an accountancy practice / accounting firm
• Strong knowledge of accounts preparation, tax, and VAT
• Experience managing a client portfolio and building client relationships
• Previous experience supervising or mentoring junior staff
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
• Strong communication skills with a professional and personable approach
