Commercial Management Accountant

Sheridan Maine is delighted to be working exclusively with an established and successful business to recruit a Commercial Management Accountant. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys getting behind the numbers, working closely with operational teams and providing meaningful financial insight to support business decisions.
 
The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting, supporting budgeting and forecasting activities.
 
Key Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts, ensuring accurate and timely month-end reporting.
• Support the budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes, providing insightful variance analysis.
• Take ownership of key balance sheet reconciliations.
• Work closely with operational and commercial managers to provide financial insight and support decision-making.
• Prepare regular financial and operational performance reports.
• Support continuous improvements to financial reporting, processes and controls.
• Assist with ad hoc financial analysis and business projects as required.

 
Skills and Experience Required

• Proven experience in a Management Accountant, Commercial Accountant, Finance Analyst or Finance Business Partner role.
• A professional accounting qualification (CIMA, ACCA or ACA).
• Strong month-end management accounting experience, with a sound understanding of financial reporting and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Excellent budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis skills.
• Confident working with non-finance stakeholders and translating financial information into meaningful commercial insight.
• Strong Excel skills and excellent analytical abilities.
• Previous experience within manufacturing or engineering would be particularly beneficial.
