Plymouth City Council currently have an opportunity for a Customer Advisor to join their Registration and Coroner's Service in Plymouth.
As a Customer Advisor within this service, your primary role would be to deliver an excellent service for routine customer enquiries and provide high quality support to the HM Coroner and a team of Registrars. You will be handling and processing large amounts of information where accuracy, confidentiality and sensitivity are paramount. Along with responding to face to face, telephone and written enquiries within a legal office, certificate applications, setting Inquest hearings, reconciliation and processing Coroner's death notifications.
You will have excellent, demonstrable written and verbal communication skills and be able to work well within a team, as well as using your own initiative. You will have a proven track record of delivering excellent customer service and be able to work calmly under pressure to meet statutory deadlines.
It is imperative that you are able to maintain absolute confidentiality and discretion within this role, due to the nature of highly sensitive information in connection with the registrations of births, death, stillbirth and sudden & unexplained deaths which are reported to the Coroner.
This temporary position is initially for 6 months with an immediate start, hours are 0900-1700, with 1 in 8 Saturdays. The rate of pay is £10.01 per hour and will be based at Derriford, with the added advantage of on-site parking.
