We are currently recruiting for a Registry Course Administrator based in Coventry City Centre. This a temporary on going position working Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm. The hourly rate is £9.55


Supports the Faculty Registrar, Assistant Faculty Registrar(s) and Registry Course Officer, in the designated area, in those functions that fall within the remit of the Faculty Registry and Course Support.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Becomes an expert on specific University procedures and regulations, briefing other staff as required. Advises the Assistant Faculty Registrar, Registry Course Officer or Faculty Registrar, on any failure to comply with University procedures or regulations

Deals accurately and efficiently with enquiries from staff, students and external organisations, and liaises regularly with other University and Faculty staff over matters concerning student and course support.

Provides administrative support for the development of, and changes to, courses and modules, from inception through the approval process, ensuring that the Faculty Registrar is kept informed of such developments.

Carries out accurate and secure maintenance and operation of manual and computerised student record systems, including undertaking data inputting. Supports the development and implementation of new systems, including the application of computer software to enhance administrative processes, and ensure accuracy and integrity of data.

Assists with the management of the examination and coursework moderation process. Ensures that assessments are produced securely and completed in accordance with the Registry timetable and at a level of quality that meets University standards and external and internal moderation requirements.

Supports the designated area by assisting in preparations for quality and other audits generating reports from University databases, as required by senior management.

Liaises effectively with other departments within the University, including Academic Registry, Finance, International Office, RAO etc.

In liaison with academic staff, ensures that all course and module documentation, assessment documentation, and module descriptors are maintained accurately and updated.

Assists in other areas of the Faculty at enrolment, induction, award ceremonies, as required by the Group Registrar & Secretary, the Faculty Registrar or Registry Course Officer.

After appropriate training, acts as Secretary to Boards of Studies, Assessment Boards and other Boards and Committees, scheduling meetings, researching and preparing papers, minuting meetings and co-ordinating follow-up actions.

Contributes to and participates in any staff development and training activities within the Faculty and/or University as deemed appropriate; deputises for Senior staff within area of responsibility and expertise; assists with briefings and presentations as appropriate.

Maintains appropriate secure archiving, filing and record systems in accordance with the University retention policy.

Continually reviews own methods and approach to work with a view to encouraging leaner processes and increased efficiency of the Faculty Registry, whilst ensuring that all processes across the Coventry University Group align.

Supports Registry related projects within the Faculty, as assigned by Faculty Registrar or Registry Course Officer, liaising with academic and administrative colleagues.
