Pertemps are working in partnership with their client to recruit a number of experienced and career driven Line/Machine Minders. You will receive first class support and training throughout the 12 week period to ensure targets are not only met but exceeded. The role offered is on a fixed term 12 week period with stellar candidates the potential of a permanent contract at the end of the period.

As a Machine Minder your key responsibilities will include:
To ensure that prior to the start-up of the Production Line, all preparation procedures relating to the day's production requirements have been carried out in accordance with Company's quality, inspection, hygiene and routine maintenance standards.

To operate and monitor the line to achieve planned case target and maximum productivity. Ensure giveaway and film waste are within budgeted targets. Waste is to be monitored and kept to an absolute minimum. Quality checks to be completed on a regular basis to avoid embargoed stock. Ensure safety, hygiene, quality, inspection, control procedures and routine maintenance are observed at all times.

To complete production line sheets hourly in order to identify causes of breakdowns and stoppages and suggest methods of reducing occurrences.

Direct responsibility for all personnel allocated to the production line ensuring individuals are efficiently deployed and moved in event of line stoppages.

To ensure that plant and equipment is stripped and cleaned in accordance with company's hygiene standards, reporting anything that is broken or needs repair.

To carry out packaging and pack size change over procedures as required.

To ensure that line members are aware of hygiene and safety whilst they are on the line, monitoring to ensure that correct safety procedures are used. Re-education / training where necessary.

To assist in the training and development of work colleagues including Trainee Line Minders.

To recommend ways in which quality and standards can be improved within the Company.

To work in a safe manner at all times.

To operate any other machinery within the company's standards and procedures.

To undertake such other duties as may be required of you.

In addition to the duties listed the post holder is required to undertake any other duties of which the responsibility, experience and skills fall within the expected capabilities of the post holder and as requested of them by a Director/Senior Manager of the company

To be successful as a Machine Minder you will have the following skills, experience and qualifications:
Able to effectively deliver main duties of the role as per the job description

Aware of current systems own area of work

Able to identify issues that arise in day to day tasks and discuss with team leader to find a resolution.

Ability to understand the whole process operation.

Awareness on the effect of changing processes/parameters/procedures.

Ability to analyse problems.

Ability to work with minimum supervision.

Demonstrates effective questioning and listening skills to understand issues and concerns

Willingly assume responsibility

Ability to be flexible and work different shift patterns and work on different production lines

Participate in the introduction of new of junior staff

Communicates effectively with immediate team members and team leaders.

Prepared to change the way something in done in response to requests or to improve effectiveness

Hours of work:
The client operates on a 2 week rotating shift pattern (including every other weekend) on 12 hour shifts detailed below.
Day shift - 07.00am till 19.00pm
Night shift - 19.00pm till 07.00am

Salary: £8.50 - £12.80 per hour
Location: Irthlingborough, NN95DB - The site is in easy reach of the A6, A14 and A45.
