Job Description

The Senior Business Analyst will conduct Business Analysis-related project work, support the Lead BA with Portfolio management, coach, mentor, and quality assure BA’s work within the portfolio. Working with the Business areas within their domain to identify & define opportunities for improvement and deliver change successfully.

What you’ll be doing as a Senior Business Analyst
  • Build strong relationships and communicate clearly and consistently with stakeholders.
  • Accountable for the management of risk in respect of analysis deliverables and the overall requirements position of a project or programme assignment.
  • To have a customer-centred outlook, working closely with business areas and Business Analysts on the opportunities, guiding and positively challenging preconceptions and driving collaboration across teams to optimise opportunities within their domain.
  • Supporting Project Leads and teams to prioritise and make decisions.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the Community, helping lead the adoption of agile principles, practices and cultural changes to improve how Thames Water delivers change across the organisation.
  • Acts as the escalation point for Business Analysts in projects and other project stakeholders for all Business Analysis activities and deliverables, facilitating discussions to agree a common understanding for resolution and remedial action planning.
  • Provide Quality Assurance for Business Analyst deliverables and overarching service offering
  • Experience in working in both Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies
Base location – Hybrid, 2 days a week in the office– Clear Water Court. (with some additional travel to sites as needed)
Working pattern – Monday to Friday, 36 hours.

What you should bring to the role
  • BCS Diploma or Equivalent
  • Extensive experience working in a Digital Business Analysis project environment.
  • Some Portfolio management for incoming project ideas.
  • Experience in managing teams of Business Analysts
  • Experience in coaching and mentoring others.
  • Ability to present information clearly and succinctly at varying levels of the organisation with emphasis on simplifying complex business and technical concepts.
  • Adapt to managing stakeholder expectations.
