Art Handling Assistant
Role information:
📍 Wolverton, Milton Keynes
🕘 Monday–Friday, 09:00–16:30
💼 Temporary Contract
What the role is:
This is an active, physical role based within a warehouse environment, requiring high levels of care and attention due to the nature and value of the items handled.
This role involves the careful handling, packing, storage and documentation of valuable and fragile exam artwork within a warehouse environment.
The individual will accurately record artwork details by hand, move and label items safely, and work both independently and as part of a team, ensuring all pieces are treated with care and attention at all times.
This role is not suitable for standard warehouse operatives.
It requires a careful, conscientious individual who understands the importance, value and sensitivity of handling artwork and can be trusted to work with precision and respect at all times.
Key responsibilities include:
The warehouse environment can vary in temperature and may be dusty or dirty at times.
Safety boots are required; these will be provided to candidates who do not already have them.

- Moving articles safely around the warehouse and on and off shelving
- Packing and unpacking artwork of varying sizes and formats, including extremely fragile pieces
- Handwritten documentation of all artwork into logbooks
- Checking, copying and cross‑referencing information across multiple logbooks
- Writing and attaching labels accurately
- Working both independently and as part of a close‑knit team
- Maintaining clear and effective communication throughout daily tasks
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Careful and methodical approach to handling fragile, high‑value items
- Clear, legible handwriting and strong written communication skills
- Ability to complete handwritten documentation accurately
- Good organisational and record‑keeping skills
- Physically fit and comfortable with an active warehouse role
- Ability to follow processes and handle items with care and discretion
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Reliable, trustworthy and conscientious work ethic
- Previous experience with Art
