The Role

Our client, The Open University, is seeking 3 highly organised and detail-oriented Student Fees Advisers to join their student support team. Based in Milton Keynes, this full-time, fixed-term role provides an exciting opportunity to support students in their academic journey by guiding them through financial support services.

You will be responsible for assessing financial support applications, managing student fee records, and providing excellent service to students and external stakeholders. This role suits a dynamic team player with strong administrative, IT, and communication skills, who thrives in a high-volume, student-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess student eligibility for financial support and maintain accurate student financial records.
  • Process applications and ensure appropriate payment arrangements are established.
  • Provide guidance and respond to student enquiries via telephone, email, and correspondence.
  • Liaise with the Student Loans Company on student records and changes in circumstances.
  • Ensure legal documents, such as visas, are valid and up to date.
  • Adhere to service level agreements (SLAs) in administration and telephony duties.
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with Data Protection regulations.
  • Contribute to internal quality standards and actively participate in team meetings.
  • Propose improvements to business processes and student service practices.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • Experience delivering against service levels and KPIs in an office or call centre environment.
  • Strong organisational, literacy, numeracy, and accuracy skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, especially by phone.
  • The ability to solve problems and provide clear solutions to students.
  • Quick learning ability and a positive attitude toward continuous development.
  • Understanding and application of equal opportunities policies in the workplace.
