Job Description
- Salary: Circa £34,000 + 6-monthly performance bonuses and excellent benefits
- Location: Portsmouth / Southsea (covering 6 student accommodation sites)
- Type: Permanent
Key Responsibilities
- Operations & Maintenance: Manage planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules, routine checks, and urgent fault-finding/emergency call-outs.
- Technical Scope: Oversee electrical, mechanical, heating, plumbing, fire, security, and structural building elements.
- Contractor & Supply Chain Management: Source specialist contractors, negotiate best rates, and ensure reliable supplier performance.
- Team Leadership: Lead, develop, and manage your team of skilled trades.
- Proven experience in managing skilled trades and building maintenance operations.
- Strong working knowledge of health and safety legislation, statutory compliance, and building systems.
- Ability to source contractors and manage supplier costs effectively.
- Note: Successful candidates will undergo a DBS check prior to employment.
- 5-day working week, including participation in a management duty roster (covering 1 weekend in 7, plus 1 late or early shift per week)
