Enforcement Officer

Role: Enforcement Officer - Environmental Services
Location: London Borough of Harrow, Harrow, Middlesex, HA3 8NT
Hours: 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Pay Rate: £19.62 per hour
Contract: Temporary / Ongoing

The London Borough of Harrow is seeking a proactive and resilient Enforcement Officer to tackle environmental offences across the borough - with a particular focus on fly-tipping and illegal waste disposal.
This is a hands-on role that requires a strong sense of responsibility, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in outdoor environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Patrol and investigate areas affected by fly-tipping and illegal dumping.
• Search for identifying evidence (e.g., names, addresses, documents) to trace offenders.
• Report incidents to the Waste Team for prompt removal and clean-up.
• Prepare and issue penalty charges in line with council enforcement procedures.
• Attend planned evening enforcement actions as required.

Requirements:

• Must hold a valid UK driving licence and have access to a personal vehicle.
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Flexible to attend evening operations when scheduled.
• Strong observational and investigative skills.
• Previous experience in enforcement, environmental services, or similar fields is desirable - but the manager is open to candidates with transferable skills.
