Hours: Monday – Friday 08:00 – 16:30
Pay: From £12.21 per hour / Depending on experience
Contract: Temp – Perm
Pertemps are currently recruiting for an experienced Edge Bander on behalf of our client based in Stourport-on-Severn. This is a Temporary to Permanent role with the opportunity of a contract at the end of a successful trial period. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining edge banding machinery to produce high-quality components.
The duties of an Edge Bander:
- Set up and operate automatic and manual edge banding machines
- Read and follow technical drawings and cutting lists
- Select and apply appropriate edge materials, adhesives, and finishes for each job
- Inspect finished panels for quality, accuracy, and finish
- Perform routine cleaning, adjustments, and maintenance on the machines
- Ensure production targets and deadlines are met while maintaining high quality standards
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment
The requirements of an Edge Bander:
- Previous experience operating edge banding machines in a woodworking or joinery environment
- Good understanding of materials (MDF, plywood, laminate, veneer, etc.)
- Ability to work accurately and efficiently with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail and pride in producing quality work
- Knowledge of workshop health & safety procedures
- Team player with good communication and reliability
