Systems Project Manager

A local Council based in Swindon are seeking a Systems Project Manager.  This position is offering a pay rate of £15.47 per hour.  You will be working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday on a 12 month assignment. You will enjoy the benefit of free car parking.

As a Systems Project Manager you will be responsible for leading a team that are developing the Housing System, which is the system for all aspects of housing management.  The Housing System is an integral part of the management of all aspects of the Council’s housing function including setting, collecting and accounting for rents, monitoring arrears, allocation of accommodation, property repairs and maintenance, and dealing with homelessness.  The system interfaces with Revenues and Benefits, Cash Management, Oracle Financials and the Works Management System.

Responsibilities of a Systems Project Manager:

- Lead major projects for the system and be involved in all projects linked to the system
- Ensure that the organisation is provided with ICT solutions to their changing needs
- Directing the team to provide a first point of contact so that day to day problems caused by software failure or incomplete/incorrect data can be resolved
- Develop, request or commission all reports and statistics required by the organisation from the relevant systems.  Support the organisation with refining their requests for information
- To be the Council’s day to day key representative in all communications with the system supplier and Capita IT Partner
- Ensure that procedure guides and training are provided to staff as appropriate

 Knowledge and Experience of a Systems Project Manager:

- Educated to degree level standard (or equivalent) or sound management information systems experience with experience in a local government or complex working environment
- Must have extensive experience working with and developing Management Information Systems
- Must have extensive experience in management/managing and motivating teams with varying roles and responsibilities and its objectives in line with Systems Development, Organisational Needs
- Ability to understand, interpret and produce complex information such as Strategic Plans, Business Models, System Specifications & Operating Documents and Performance Information
- Must have extensive experience working in a Housing Environment
