A National Department within the National Health Department are in need of a temporary Senior HR Caseworker for an initial 2 months with a possibility of extension. The organization aiming to appoint a Senior HR Caseworker to focus on HR employee relations casework in the first instance.

Role: Senior HR Caseworker
Duration: Until the end March 2020 - possibility of extension
Location: Two offices based in London: Tooting or Colindale (Having access to the Northern Line would be ideal) Additional travel required- see below
Travel Requirements: The post will require to travel within the East region and surrounding areas around Colindale, Tooting, Basildon and Cambridge- No overnight stays required. Travel may be up to 3 days a week
Pay Rate: £20 circa per hour (PAYE)
Hours: 9am-5pm (Fulltime)

Job Essence and Role:

  • You will be part of the HR Consult team providing expert advice and internal consultancy service to organisaitions managers on a range of workforce issues to ensure that organisational objectives and workforce targets are achieved in a number of key result areas including discipline, grievance, Organisational Change, Performance Management, Sickness Management and the Health and Well Being agenda, Policies and Procedures implementation and development, National and local Terms and Conditions of service, Recruitment and Resourcing, Job Evaluation and Job Redesign
  • You will be required to act as an autonomous HR practitioner, using the application of consultancy skills to provide expert HR advice on a range of HR issues that is compliant with employment law, best practice and national guidance to enable NHSBT operational areas to achieve their objectives
  • You will work closely with the HR Direct team, Health and Safety team and the Organisation and Workforce Development (OWD) team to provide outcome focused holistic workforce solutions to support operational managers and staff with their workforce issues

Experience and Knowledge:
  • Experience of working in a busy HR function dealing with employee relations issues in a unionised environment e.g. investigations into disciplinary cases, staff grievances, organisational change meetings, etc
  • Experience of advising and influencing managers in the interpretation of HR Policies, HR Procedures and terms and conditions of employment
  • Good working knowledge of UK employment law, including disciplinary / grievance, sickness absence, maternity / paternity provisions, terms and conditions of service etc
  • Experience of producing and presenting clear, concise and well argued reports e.g. for case hearings and appeals

Qualifications and Training:
  • Graduate member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development at Level 7 (postgraduate) which must be maintained
  • Chartered member of CIPD would be an advantage
  • Demonstrates commitment to own Continued Professional Development (CPD)
  • Possession of a valid driving licence, allowing you to drive in the UK would be an advantage

Having a DBS would be advantageous and will spend up the process/ however if not we will be able to obtain one for you should you be sucessfull
