Events & Protocol Assistant
£35,304 | Central London (Hybrid) | Full Time

Intergovernmental organisation is seeking an experienced Events & Protocol Assistant to join its team in Central London.

This is a unique opportunity to support the delivery of high-profile international conferences, ministerial meetings, leadership summits and diplomatic events. Working as part of a busy Events & Protocol team, you will help coordinate operational, logistical and protocol arrangements for senior government representatives and international delegates from across a global membership network.

The role offers significant international exposure and requires overseas travel, sometimes at short notice and for extended periods.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the planning and delivery of major international meetings, conferences and high-level events
    • Coordinate logistics, delegate registration and protocol arrangements.
    • Organise travel, accommodation and event support for staff teams and delegates.
    • Liaise with internal stakeholders, suppliers and external clients to ensure successful event delivery.
    • Support virtual and hybrid events using platforms such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams.
    • Assist with event budgets, payments and financial reconciliations.
    • Coordinate meeting room bookings and provide general administrative support to the Events & Protocol function.
    • Travel internationally to support the delivery of events and conferences.
About You
  • Degree in International Relations, Development Studies or a related field or equivalent qualification
    • Previous experience in events coordination within an international environment.
    • Experience supporting both in-person and virtual events.
    • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
    • Confident managing multiple priorities and working under pressure.
    • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Teams, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
    • Experience with event administration, budgets and travel coordination.
    • Experience within an international organisation, government, diplomatic or membership body.
    • Knowledge of protocol arrangements for high-level meetings.
    • Experience working across different countries and cultures.
