Pertemps are recruiting for a qualified and experienced Social Worker to join the LAC team; this is a unique opportunity for Social Work role within the leaving care service.

Role and duties:

• To provide care, support and guidance care leavers (age 16-25 years) to enable them to reach their full potential within their communities, placements or families.
• To act as a personal advisor to a specified number of young people and be their first point of contact, with responsibility for providing flexible support and advice when they are preparing and planning to leave care, and throughout their transition to adulthood when they access the leaving care service.
• The role involves working closely with other professionals in housing, health and education as well as directly with the young people we support.
• To meet statutory duties within the legislation and regulations framework.

Candidates will need to hold a full driving license and have access to a vehicle as the role involves travelling to visit young people within the Borough as well as outside of the Borough. The role is hybrid with an expectation that workers are in the office 3 days a week.

The successful candidate must have relevant children’s social care experience, have completed their ASYE, and be registered with the SWE.
