Location: Southend-on-Sea, Essex
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: MPS (ECT 1–2), in line with STPCD

About the Role We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Early Career Teacher of Maths to join our supportive and ambitious secondary school in Southend-on-Sea from September. This is an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified or soon-to-qualify teacher to begin their career within a strong and collaborative Mathematics department.

You will teach Mathematics across Key Stages 3 and 4, with opportunities to teach Key Stage 5 depending on experience and departmental need. You will be supported to develop confident classroom practice and deliver a well-sequenced curriculum that builds fluency, reasoning, and problem-solving skills.

The Ideal Candidate Will:
  • Hold (or be on track to achieve) Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Have strong subject knowledge in Mathematics
  • Be passionate about developing students’ confidence and achievement in Maths
  • Deliver engaging, structured lessons with high expectations for all learners
  • Use assessment effectively to inform planning and support progress
  • Be reflective, resilient, and eager to develop professionally
  • Work well as part of a collaborative team
