The Role As a Learning Support Assistant, you will:
- Support pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and associated communication and learning needs.
- Deliver one-to-one and small group interventions focusing on speech, language and social communication.
- Assist pupils in developing emotional regulation, confidence and independence.
- Support literacy, numeracy and functional learning across the curriculum.
- Implement personalised learning strategies and EHCP targets.
- Use visual supports, communication systems and sensory strategies to maximise pupil engagement.
- Work closely with teachers and therapists to deliver a consistent, child-centred approach.
- Record progress and contribute to pupil development plans.
- Psychology graduates.
- Speech and Language Therapy graduates or aspiring SLTs.
- Education Studies graduates.
- Childhood Studies graduates.
- Health and Social Care graduates.
- Criminology graduates with SEN experience.
- Experienced Learning Support Assistants and SEN Teaching Assistants.
- A genuine passion for supporting children with SEND.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, resilience and a positive attitude.
- The ability to build trusting relationships with pupils.
- Experience working with children or young people (school, care, youth work, tutoring or voluntary settings).
