Are you confident leading learning, managing a small team and taking responsibility for a class?

This is a fantastic opportunity to lead a small class of just 6 children with Autism, delivering engaging learning activities and working closely with the school's experienced SEND team.

The Role

- Lead learning for a class of 6 primary-aged children with Autism
- Deliver engaging and differentiated learning activities
- Support pupils with communication, social interaction and emotional regulation
- Create a calm, structured and nurturing classroom environment
- Adapt learning to meet individual needs and EHCP targets
- Work closely with the Class Teacher, SENCO and wider SEND team
- Lead and coordinate Teaching Assistants working within the classroom
- Use visual timetables, structured routines and Autism-friendly strategies
- Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
- Promote independence, confidence and positive behaviour
We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic professional who:
- Has previous experience as an HLTA, experienced SEN Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant
- Has strong experience supporting children with Autism / ASC and additional needs
- Is confident leading small groups or whole-class learning
- Can create a calm, structured and engaging learning environment
- Has excellent behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies
- Is confident working independently while being part of a wider team
- Is ambitious and interested in progressing within education
- Would potentially like to pursue a career in teaching
