Social Services Occupational Therapist – Adults & Paediatrics Location: Hybrid – office/borough attendance required at least 2 days per week
Rate: £32–£38 per hour (umbrella, depending on experience)
Hours: Full-time preferred | Part-time considered (minimum 21 hours over 3 days or 3 long days totalling 25 hours)
Duration: Long-term role (minimum 12 months funding secured)
About the Role Pertemps are seeking an experienced
Occupational Therapist to work across
Adult Social Care and
Paediatric cases within a busy social services team. This varied caseload will focus primarily on adults but also include children and young people with complex needs.
- Caseload split: approx. 60–70% Adults | 30–40% Paediatrics
- Caseload volume: 2–3 cases per week (depending on complexity)
- Opportunities for overtime available
Key Responsibilities- Managing adult social care cases, including major adaptations and manual handling assessments
- Working with children and families on paediatric cases, including major adaptations and assessments for children with challenging behaviours
- Providing holistic assessments within both social care and NHS contexts
- Recommending and facilitating equipment, housing adaptations, and care planning to support independence and safety
- Delivering high-quality reports and working collaboratively across multi-disciplinary teams
About You- Minimum 3 years’ experience working in social care as an OT
- Proven experience in major adaptations and manual handling (adults)
- Experience of paediatric OT, ideally within social care or NHS, including challenging behaviour cases
- HCPC registered Occupational Therapist
- Strong communication and assessment skills, with the ability to manage a mixed caseload
