Contact Team is seeking an experienced
Occupational Therapist to join our frontline, fast-paced service as a
Deputy Team Manager (DTM).
This is a key leadership role, supporting the Team Manager to deliver a
safe, strength-based and person-centred service, promoting independence through early and effective OT intervention.
About the Role As Deputy Team Manager, you will provide
operational leadership and professional oversight to a multidisciplinary team including Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, Assistant Practitioners and unqualified staff.
You will play a central role in ensuring
high-quality OT practice, timely responses, and consistent service delivery within the Contact Team.
Key Responsibilities- Provide day-to-day operational leadership within the Contact Team
- Oversee OT service provision, including monitoring and responding to the generic OT inbox
- Lead on quality assurance, authorisation and professional sign-off of OT referrals and Contact Assessments
- Allocate OT work weekly and provide professional guidance and clinical advice
- Ensure the safe and timely provision of straightforward OT equipment following assessment
(note: the Contact Team does not manage major adaptations) - Identify and address training and development needs for unqualified staff in OT-related practice
- Support the Team Manager with supervision, performance management, staff wellbeing and sickness monitoring
Essential Requirements- HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist (mandatory)
- Significant post-qualification experience within adult social care or health settings
- Proven experience supervising and mentoring staff
- Strong knowledge of manual handling, equipment provision and community OT practice
- Experience in quality assurance and professional sign-off of assessments
- Excellent communication, decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, frontline environment and make sound clinical judgements
