Occupational Therapist – Single-Handed Care Review Project
Location: Shropshire
Rate: £31.97 per hour

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join Shropshire Council’s Single-Handed Care Review project. This is a fantastic opportunity for a professional with over 5 years of experience to make a real difference in the lives of adults across Shropshire.

Role Overview:
You will undertake 10 single-handed care assessments per week, evaluating existing care packages and recommending suitable equipment to reduce reliance on carers. Your input will enhance client independence and overall wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct 10 single-handed assessments per week.
• Order and manage equipment needs in line with Care Act (2014) requirements.
• Collaborate closely with the Adult Social Care team to review and update support plans.
• Support clients to achieve greater independence and improved quality of life.

Requirements:

• Over 5 years’ experience as an Occupational Therapist.
• Expertise in Care Act-compliant OT assessments.
• Strong knowledge of single-handed care principles and equipment provision.
• Excellent communication and clinical reasoning skills.
