Salary: Β£18 to Β£20 per hour About the Role Weβre looking for a dedicated and highly organised
SEND Case Officer to join our dynamic team and support the Education, Health and Care (EHC) needs assessment process. You'll play a crucial role in ensuring that children and young people with special educational needs receive timely and effective support, in line with the SEND Code of Practice.
Key Responsibilities- Act as the first point of contact for families and professionals at the start of the EHC needs assessment process.
- Manage and allocate caseloads to ensure compliance with statutory timescales.
- Communicate clearly and sensitively with families and young people, guiding them through the EHCP process.
- Liaise with parents, schools, and multi-agency professionals regarding assessment requests and annual reviews.
- Monitor and check incoming reports to ensure legal requirements are met.
- Support the Head of SEND Assessment and Review Service with key administrative tasks.
- Coordinate timely input from social care, health professionals, educational psychologists, and other agencies.
- Organise and manage all SEND panels, ensuring smooth coordination between schools, families, and partners.
- Provide responsive support across the SEND Assessment and Review Team.
- Manage enquiries via phone and shared mailboxes, ensuring swift and accurate responses.
- Prioritise and escalate urgent issues as necessary.
What Weβre Looking For- Experience working in a SEND, education, or social care setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organisational abilities and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with the SEND Code of Practice is highly desirable.
- Confidence in managing multiple tasks and stakeholders under pressure.
Working Arrangement- Weeks 1β2: Full-time in-office for onboarding and training.
- After Week 2: Hybrid model β 2 days in-office, 3 days remote working.
