Children’s Social Work, Social Work Assistant Southampton 
Pay rate £21.14 per hour  
Contract role, Child Protection / Safeguarding 
 
Pertemps are recruiting for an experienced Children’ Social Work Assistant in Southampton 
This is to work as a Young Person’s Practitioner – you will need to have a Level 3 BTEC or NVQ in Health and Social Care or similar. 
Responsibilities: 

• In partnership with families and other agencies, provide support alongside social workers to young people and families who are undergoing statutory assessments, children in need interventions and ROTH / child protection enquiries and interventions.  

• Support children and young people who are; vulnerable to criminality or exploitation vulnerable because missing is a risk factor vulnerable because family breakdown or homelessness is a significant risk  

• Support parents, carers and family networks through practical advice, guidance and support. Sometimes this will be in an emergency or an intensive package of support.  

• Undertake some statutory tasks as described within The Children Act 1989, Sec 17, including assessments of need, case holding CIN cases and undertaking CIN visits, when deemed appropriate by the Practice Manager, and alongside a qualified Social Worker where necessary.
