Behaviour Mentor – SEMH School
Do you have experience supporting young people with challenging behaviours? This amazing SEMH school is looking to add a dynamic and resilient Behaviour Mentor to the team to provide 1-2-1 support for young people who have struggled to regulate their behaviours and emotions. As a Behaviour Mentor you will be supporting children with a primary diagnosis of SEMH and challenging behaviours, encouraging engagement in lessons and managing behaviours.

The school is a brilliant setting that has been nationally recognised for the impact that it has on the lives of young people. The headteacher is committed to ensuring that every child has access to an excellent education and that students feel safe and supported at school. The behavioural support team are friendly, and you will be joining a small but efficient team of behaviour mentors. This role requires a behaviour mentor with prior experience supporting young people in either a school or residential setting.
Job role:
  • Acting as a behaviour mentor and positive role model for young people
  • Understanding the barriers that students face and what might cause them to demonstrate challenging behaviours
  • Identify and report any potential safeguarding concerns to the DSL
  • Accurately monitor and record students’ behaviours
  • Healp young people to understand the importance of education
  • Delivering creative and fun intervention sessions for students focused on improving behaviour
