SEND Lead – Secondary School – Walsall
A secondary school in Walsall is seeking an experienced SEND Lead to oversee and manage its Special Educational Needs provision. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate and organised individual to take a leading role in ensuring students with additional needs receive the support, guidance, and resources they require to succeed.

As the SEND Lead, you will manage the provision for students with a wide range of needs, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, and moderate learning difficulties. You will work closely with the SENCO, leadership team, and teaching staff to deliver high-quality support, while line-managing a team of teaching assistants and supporting the development of inclusive classroom practice. This role requires excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills, as well as a deep understanding of SEND strategies and interventions.

Responsibilities include:
  • Managing the day-to-day SEND provision within the school
  • Leading and supporting a team of teaching assistants and support staff
  • Delivering and overseeing targeted interventions for students with additional needs
  • Monitoring and evaluating the impact of SEND support across the school
  • Liaising with teachers, parents, and external agencies to ensure the best outcomes for students
  • Supporting staff with strategies and training to meet the needs of SEND students
  • Ensuring all statutory requirements and policies related to SEND are met
The ideal candidate will have:
  • Experience working with secondary-aged students with a range of SEND needs
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team
  • Excellent knowledge of SEND legislation, strategies, and best practice
  • The ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and staff
  • A proactive, solution-focused approach with a genuine passion for improving outcomes for young people
