Teaching Assistants – SEND Schools
Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant looking for flexible work across Birmingham? The Education Network Birmingham is currently recruiting a number of Teaching Assistants to support a range of excellent SEND schools across the city. We have opportunities available for both long-term assignments and day-to-day supply, giving you the flexibility to choose the type of work that suits you. Whether you're looking for consistent work in one school or prefer the variety of day-to-day supply, we'd love to hear from you.
Our partner schools support children and young people with a wide range of additional needs, including Autism, SEMH, Moderate Learning Difficulties, complex learning needs and physical disabilities. You could be providing classroom support, working with small groups or delivering 1-2-1 support depending on the needs of the pupils. We are looking for Teaching Assistants who are confident, reliable and passionate about working with children with SEND.

The Role
- Supporting pupils with a range of SEND and additional needs
- Providing classroom, small-group and 1-2-1 support
- Helping pupils access the curriculum and engage in learning
- Supporting communication, emotional regulation and positive behaviour
- Promoting independence, confidence and social development
- Working alongside teachers and specialist support staff
- Supporting pupils to achieve their individual learning and EHCP targets
- Adapting your approach to meet the needs of individual pupils
- Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND – essential
- A genuine passion for supporting pupils with additional needs
- A patient, calm and adaptable approach
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- The ability to work confidently as part of a school team
- A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent – highly desirable
- Experience supporting Autism, SEMH, MLD or complex needs would be advantageous
- Long-term assignments available across Birmingham
- Day-to-day supply work for maximum flexibility
