SEMH Teacher

Secondary SEMH Teacher required for a specialist school in Solihull. Are you a Secondary Teacher looking for a new challenge? Do you have experience supporting students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs and challenging behaviour? This is an excellent opportunity for a Secondary SEMH Teacher to join a supportive specialist setting and help students overcome barriers to education.

As a Secondary SEMH Teacher, you will teach students across Key Stage 3 and 4, planning and delivering engaging lessons that are adapted to meet individual needs. The Secondary SEMH Teacher will need a calm and consistent approach to behaviour management, alongside the ability to build positive relationships with students who may have struggled within mainstream education.
Previous experience working with students with SEMH needs or challenging behaviour is essential. QTS is highly desirable, and applications from experienced Secondary Teachers with strong SEMH experience will be considered.

Job Role:

• Teaching students across Key Stage 3 and 4.
• Planning and delivering engaging lessons within an SEMH setting.
• Adapting teaching to meet individual learning needs.
• Managing challenging behaviour using a calm and consistent approach.
• Building positive and trusting relationships with students.
• Supporting students to overcome barriers to learning.
• Monitoring student progress and providing appropriate feedback.
• Working closely with Teaching Assistants and the wider pastoral team.
• Creating a safe, structured and positive learning environment.
