Are you a Psychology or Criminology graduate looking to gain valuable experience working with young people? A forward-thinking and inclusive school based in the Bracknell/Wokingham area is seeking a Graduate SEMH, Autism & Disadvantaged Children Support Assistant to join their dedicated team. The school is particularly interested in ambitious Psychology or Criminology graduates who are passionate about supporting children and young people facing social, emotional, behavioural, and additional learning challenges. Full training and ongoing professional development will be provided.
The Role As a Graduate Support Assistant, you will work closely with pupils who have:

• Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
• Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
• ADHD and associated behavioural needs
• Vulnerable or disadvantaged backgrounds
• Emotional regulation and communication difficulties

You will provide both 1:1 and small group support, helping pupils access learning, develop positive relationships, improve emotional wellbeing, and achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities

• Support pupils within the classroom and throughout the school day
• Build positive and trusting relationships with students
• Assist with behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies
• Deliver targeted interventions and mentoring sessions
• Work alongside teachers, SEN professionals, therapists, and parents
• Encourage pupil engagement, confidence, and independence
• Help create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment

The Ideal Candidate

• A degree in Psychology, Criminology, or a related subject
• Passion for supporting children and young people
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Resilient, patient, and adaptable approach
• Interest in mental health, SEND, safeguarding, or youth work
• Previous experience working with children, young people, or vulnerable adults is desirable but not essential
