The Role As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support pupils on a 1:1 or small group basis
- Assist with the delivery of tailored learning programmes
- Encourage independence, communication, and social development
- Support pupils with emotional regulation and behaviour strategies
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff
- Contribute to a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment
- Have experience working with children or young people with SEN (particularly Autism)
- Are patient, resilient, and adaptable in their approach
- Have a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
- Can build strong, positive relationships with pupils and staff
- Are committed to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
- Experienced SEN Teaching Assistants
- Care or support workers transitioning into education
- Graduates (Psychology, Education, Health & Social Care, Speech & Language) with relevant SEN experience
- Work within a specialist setting with excellent facilities and resources
- Gain valuable experience supporting children with complex needs
