SEN Teacher – Reading – Specialist Setting We are currently recruiting for a committed and compassionate SEN Teacher to join a well-established specialist school in Reading on a permanent basis from September.
This is a highly rewarding opportunity to teach within a KS2 class, supporting pupils with complex learning needs in a small, highly supported classroom environment.
About the Role:

• Teaching a small KS2 class (typically 5–8 pupils)
• Supporting pupils with severe and profound learning difficulties (SLD/PMLD) and Autism (ASD)
• Delivering a highly personalised and differentiated curriculum
• Working closely with a strong team of Teaching Assistants (high staff-to-pupil ratio)
• Supporting students with EHCPs, communication needs, and sensory profiles
• Creating a structured, nurturing, and engaging learning environment

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
• Experience working with SEN pupils, particularly complex needs (SLD, PMLD, ASD)
• Strong understanding of communication strategies and sensory approaches
• A patient, adaptable, and nurturing teaching style
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team
