Early Years SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary School – Lambeth (SW2) Start Date: ASAP
Pay: Competitive (dependent on experience)
We are currently recruiting for an Early Years SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Lambeth (SW2). This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs, particularly within an Early Years setting.
The school is also open to graduates who are keen to gain hands-on experience working with SEN pupils and are considering a future career in education, psychology, or therapy.
The Role: As an Early Years SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be supporting pupils in Nursery or Reception with additional needs. You will work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to provide targeted support, helping children develop key skills in communication, social interaction, and early learning.

- Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN
- Assist in delivering engaging and inclusive early years activities
- Support children with speech & language needs, ASD, or developmental delays
- Help create a safe, nurturing, and structured learning environment
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCO, and external professionals
The Ideal Candidate:
- Has experience working with SEN pupils (in school, care, or similar settings)
- Experience in a UK primary school is highly desirable
- OR a graduate with a strong interest in SEN and education
- Patient, empathetic, and passionate about supporting young learners
- Confident, proactive, and able to build positive relationships with children
- A team player with a willingness to learn and develop
- A supportive and welcoming school environment
- Valuable experience for aspiring teachers, psychologists, or therapists
