Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEMH needs
- Support students both inside and outside the classroom
- Implement behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques
- Assist in delivering tailored learning activities in line with EHCP targets
- Build positive, trusting relationships with students
- Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams
- Promote a safe, supportive, and structured learning environment
- Passionate about supporting young people with SEMH needs
- Calm, patient, and resilient under pressure
- Confident managing challenging behaviour
- A strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
- Flexible and willing to work across multiple sites
- A team player with a proactive and positive attitude
- Previous experience working in SEN, SEMH, or alternative provisions
- Understanding of behaviour management strategies or trauma-informed approaches
- Relevant qualifications (e.g. Teaching Assistant, Psychology, Youth Work)
