Rate: up to £37 per hour
 
We are recruiting for motivated qualified social worker to join our busy team. This role is with one of the UK’s highest performing local authorities, serving as one of the best places to live and work in.
 
This is a qualified role requiring you to be SWE registered and have relevant experience within children’s services.
 
We are currently seeking qualified social workers with at least 2 years post-qualifying experience, including experience of working with children in long-term care to join our Children in Care team. You will be supporting children whose care plan is long-term care through to independence. We are based at an attractive seafront location with a view of the beach in Cleethorpes with access to ample low-cost parking, reasonably priced accommodation (if needed) and good access to community resources, shops and restaurants.
 
You will work with a supportive and collaborative team of colleagues including social workers, team managers, IROs, the virtual school, LAC health and family support workers. You will be responsible for regularly visiting children in their homes to ensure that all statutory requirements are being met and that positive relationships are being built so you can support our children to achieve permanence in a timely way, enjoy relationships with their family, understand their history and life story, and work towards achieving independence.
 
NELC Children’s Services is committed to relationship-based practice with children and young people, and amongst our colleagues. We believe that spending time together in person is essential to making and maintaining these relationships and so we ask staff to work from the office for 3 days a week (there is some flexibility in how this is managed as long as you average 3 days on site). All of our current agency colleagues have been with the team for at least 6 months, with some being with us for over a year.
 
NELC has recently been acknowledged as the fastest improving Children’s Services team in the country, we are very proud of what we have achieved so far but we know that there is more work to do and we are looking for staff who are committed to helping us on that journey and offering the psychological commitment our children and young people need to build effective working relationships with their social worker.
 
A key part of our improvement strategy has been securing highly skilled, permanent senior managers, all of the senior management team in the corporate parenting service area are permanent – right through to the DCS. You will receive access to excellent management through regular, high quality supervision - both case and personal and local authority training and development opportunities. You will work closely with your line manager (Team Manager) and the child’s IRO to make sure that they have an excellent quality plan and that the identified actions are being driven forwards, always ensuring the focus remains on our children. You will prepare a variety reports to support care planning and decision making for our children in care, always working to deadlines effectively. You will make sure that your work meets statutory and organisational expectations.
