Location: Birmingham
Salary: £22,835 – £23,589 (FTE £28,163 – £29,093)
Contract: Permanent, Part Time (30 hours per week, all year round)

Pertemps Recruitment are looking for a motivated Premises Assistant to join a busy education setting in Birmingham. This is a permanent, part-time opportunity (30 hours per week, Monday to Friday) offering a varied role where no two days are the same.

The Role:

As Premises Assistant, you will play an important part in maintaining a safe, secure and welcoming environment for students, staff and visitors. Duties will include:

• Carrying out general maintenance and repairs (painting, plumbing, electrics, carpentry).
• Ensuring health and safety standards are met through regular checks and risk assessments.
• Managing site security, including unlocking/locking buildings and responding to alarms.
• Supporting events by setting up rooms, equipment and furniture.
• Maintaining grounds and outdoor spaces.

About You:

• Previous experience in a similar maintenance or premises role is desirable.
• Hands-on practical skills with the ability to use tools and equipment safely.
• Knowledge of health and safety procedures.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise tasks.
• Friendly, professional and reliable approach.

Requirements:

• Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain).
• Two recent professional references covering the last 24 months.
• Full compliance and Right to Work checks will be required.
