The Role: As a KS1 Learning Mentor, you’ll work closely with class teachers to support pupils across Year 1 and Year 2. Your responsibilities will include delivering focused interventions in phonics, reading, writing, and early maths, as well as providing emotional and behavioural support where needed. You’ll help create a positive and engaging learning environment that enables children to grow in confidence and independence.
The Candidate: You should hold a degree in any subject and have a strong interest in primary education, particularly early learning. A calm, nurturing approach and the ability to build trust with young children are essential. Any experience in a school, nursery, or working with children in another setting will be helpful.
Requirements- Degree – A 2:2 or above in any subject.
- Communication – Clear and confident verbal and written communication.
- Enhanced DBS – Must hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS certificate.
- Desire to work in education/with children – A genuine interest in supporting young learners and pursuing a career in education.
- Experience working with children – Any relevant experience such as tutoring, mentoring, or volunteering is desirable but not essential.
