The Role:
As a Science Teacher (ECT), you will play a pivotal role in inspiring curiosity and a love for science within our student body. Your responsibilities will include delivering engaging and challenging lessons tailored to meet the diverse needs of learners, cultivating their scientific inquiry skills, critical thinking abilities, and confidence in scientific concepts. Collaborating with colleagues, you will contribute to the implementation of innovative teaching strategies and actively engage in the wider school community.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and deliver high-quality science lessons aligned with the national curriculum and school objectives.
  • Adapt teaching methods to accommodate the individual learning styles and abilities of students, ensuring inclusivity and accessibility for all.
  • Assess student progress through various formative and summative assessments, offering constructive feedback to facilitate their academic growth.
  • Foster a positive and supportive classroom environment conducive to learning, nurturing a culture of mutual respect and enthusiasm for science.
  • Participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching practice and contribute to the continuous improvement of the science department and the school as a whole.
 
Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or pending completion of PGCE or equivalent qualification in Science.
  • A genuine passion for science, with the ability to inspire and motivate students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fostering positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/carers.
  • Strong organisational and time-management abilities, enabling effective planning and delivery of engaging lessons.
  • Commitment to personal and professional development, demonstrating a growth mindset and readiness to embrace learning and adaptation.
