The Graduate

• At least a bachelor’s degree in English Language, Literature, or a related field.
• Genuine passion for the field of English and a drive to instil this into secondary school students.
• Strong understanding of the English language, and the confidence to share your knowledge with KS3 and KS4 students.
• A clear communication style and a warm, friendly personality.
• Previous experience of working with students, or in a school setting, beneficial but not essential.

 
The Role
As an English Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will assist in the planning and delivery of lessons in line with the GCSE English national curriculum. You will monitor and track student progress and use this understanding to adapt learning materials to suit the unique learning needs of each individual. In your English Graduate Teaching Assistant role, you will be responsible for providing 1-2-1 and small group support surrounding the GCSE English syllabus and will build strong bonds with students and staff in order to fulfil students’ maximum potential. It is essential that the successful candidate enthusiastically partake in activities with the wider school community to ensure a positive learning environment.
