Academic Learning Support Assistant

*** September 2026 to July 2027
*** £85 - £101 per day
*** Location – secondary school, Wolverhampton
*** 1:1 support across the national curriculum
The Role:
Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a student across the national curriculum, helping them stay engaged in lessons, follow routines, break tasks into manageable steps, and access learning more confidently. You will work closely with teaching staff to reinforce classwork, support academic progress, and help the student build confidence across the school day.
The Candidate:
You are calm, observant, and able to build trust through consistency and clear communication. You want practical school-based experience, you can stay patient in a busy secondary setting, and you are interested in how focused support helps a young person overcome barriers to learning and make steady progress.
Requirements
• Degree – A 2:2 or above in any subject.
• Communication – Clear and confident verbal and written communication.
• Enhanced DBS – Must hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS certificate.
• Desire to work in education/with children – Genuine interest in supporting pupil progress and wellbeing.
• Career Goals – An interest in building a long-term career supporting children and young people in education.
