Cover Supervisor – Full-Time Maternity CoverLocation: Durham
Start Date: 19th October 2026
Duration: Until Summer 2027
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:30pm
Basis: Supply
The Education Network is currently recruiting for a Cover Supervisor to provide full-time maternity cover at a secondary school in the Durham area.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Cover Supervisor or a confident individual with relevant school-based experience to join a supportive school for a long-term placement, starting 19th October and continuing through to the summer.

The role will involve:

• Supervising classes in the absence of teaching staff.
• Delivering pre-set work and ensuring students remain focused and engaged.
• Maintaining a positive and well-managed classroom environment.
• Supporting students with their learning and behaviour.
• Following school policies and safeguarding procedures.

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• Previous experience working in a secondary school or similar educational setting.
• Strong classroom management skills.
• The confidence to supervise students independently.
• A professional, reliable and positive approach.
• An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for one.
